The idea of the work:
The work is based on the theme of otherness, choosing a visually unexpected solution – the fish are depicted in an unusual environment for them, in the forest. Such a motif symbolizes what falls out of the usual order, creating a slight sense of strangeness and surprise. The forest environment is kept close and recognizable, with its usual elements, thus further enhancing the contrast between the familiar and the unusual. The fish are depicted simply, close to the Lithuanian context, but distinguished by brighter colors and fins, in order to naturally attract attention and emphasize otherness. The chosen forest motif is also related to the local context – nature is close and important to many. Considering the fact that the power plant building is located between a school and residential areas, where there is a lack of natural environment, this visual aims to bring more liveliness and naturalness to the urban space.
