Installation "Žaltys"
The installation Snake was created especially for Elektrėnai – it is a larger-than-life sculpture depicting a mythical creature crawling through a reed bed. The reptile is immersed in the reeds, it is not easily accessible – the entire reed bed becomes an integral part of the installation, drawing the viewer into a mysterious, life-filled space.
The snake's body displays its characteristic mark – yellow spots near its ears, but its exaggerated form transcends the boundaries of reality and subconsciously resembles a snake or even a dragon. It is an invitation to look at snakes in a new way – not only as animals, but also as archaic, mythological creatures, in which ancient wisdom, the power of nature and mystery intertwine.
The installation encourages us to rethink the connection between humans and nature – are we still able to see what lies beyond the visible world? The Elektrėnai Lagoon becomes home to a giant serpent – a symbol of life, energy and immortality.
